The Today Show right now is talking about parents asking parents to sign a waiver before dropping their kids off for a play date. Even attached to a birthday party invitations! Seriously?
Let me say, if I was asked to sign a waiver, my response would absolutely be what Jacoba just said, DON'T LEAVE YOUR KID THERE ALONE!! Stay there or no more play date. I would immediately suggest we movethe play date to our house, where I know I would be watching the kids. Aside from that, if you honestly think your kid's friends' parents are going to sue you over a small accident or injury like a scrape or a fall- which happen when kids play- you should just avoid those situations where you would be liable. If you think I will sue you, invite me to stay. If I decline, then suggest the waiver, or at least tell me before hand that there are these risks at your house that my kid may get hurt or whatever. I think bringing waivers into it takes it too far.
What is this world coming to?

Final Four!
I'm not really what you would call a sports nut, but buckeye sports always get me fired up. Maybe it's because it's my alma mater fighting for a championship...maybe it's the legacy of my grandpa, growing up watching him watch the buckeyes, always yelling at the tv screen. Either way it's one of the great joys of my life, watching buckeye sports. Tonight we play in the final four. I have been watching pre game shows all day, can't hardly contain myself!
I can't wait to see what Sullinger does or how Craft saves the day..with a little less than 3 hours to tipoff, I can promise you I will be writing a lot throughout the game!
GO BUCKS!!! O-H!!

Lottery Frenzy
Could we talk about the lottery a little bit more? I think if I hear more stories about past winners my chances might be better...I mean, come on ABC. They're seriously doing a whole special about all the things that could go wrong if you buy the winning ticket.
Yes, the jackpot is HIGH! I understand, it's on everyone's mind, everyone wants to win. But seriously, a whole special titled "Lottery Frenzy"? And Barbara Walters is the "anchor" for this maddness? I think this says so much about our country..and pretty much everyone in it.
I read a post on facebook earlier that suggested we divide the jackpot among all US citizens. I can think of about 100 reasons this wouldn't be a good idea, but it's a nice thing to muse about.
One thing I can say about all this is, I hope myself or someone in my family wins! Haha. It sure would make my boyfriend's delusions of grandeur more reality than delusion ;)
Oh, and GOOD LUCK everyone! I hope the money goes to someone who deserves it and will do great things with it.

Hi there!
Hi everyone! Thanks for checking out my blog! I plan to discuss my love of DIY crafts, my theory of baby led parenting, the deals I score with coupons and the other bloggers who help me find them, the ridiculous things I see in the media that I just HAVE to say something about :) and anything else I think is worth sharing. I'll start here by introducing myself :)
I am a new stay at home mom, and absolutely loving it! The time I am getting with my baby girl is precious and amazing and I wouldn't give it up for anything. It's much more fulfilling than I thought it could be, and the time I have I use to find fun things to do with her, or for her, and to find great deals on things I can stock up on. I started my "stockpile" at the beginning of February, spent less than $100 (probably closer to $50 actually), and I'm stocked for at least a year on shampoo, body wash, deodorant, dish detergent, laundry detergent, toothpaste, floss, toothbrushes, hand soap and face wash. I'm so proud of my little hoard :) Getting things fo free, or close to free, is so rewarding! My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer around the same time I started couponing, so I came up with a way to raise a little money for her as well. I have been making crochet beanies supporting breast cancer and 100% of the profit is going straight to her medical bills. You can find these hats here: Crochet for a Cure.
I also have a small obsession with Disney World, and since we are currently planning our first Disney trip with the little one I am sure I will be sharing details of that with you all :) Well, it sounds like it is time for our walk, can't wait to get started on this blog!
